set target to OOo 2.x My negative votes for these suggestions. Firstly: Word Completion is often experienced as a particular usefully feature and advantage over MSO, even though MSO has this feature, too. But in MSO it's switched off by default, in OOo it's switched on. It's easier to switch off a feature that annoys you (personally), than switching on a feature from that you don't know it even exists. Thus, please leave it switched on by default. Secondly: Using the "enter" key for "entering" (accepting) a suggested word is far more "intuitive", in terms of self-descriptiveness (for explanations please refer to Part 10 of ISO 9241 "Ergonomic requirements for office work with visual display terminals"). The basic function of the "enter" key is (as it name shows) to complete a user-machine dialogue, as clicking on an OK button, not to insert a new line - that is "return", as on mechanical typewriters. Thus, please leave the default key as it is. Conclusion: I don't see anybody bringing forward arguments for changing the defaults. On the other hand, any other desired behavior can be configured easily via the GUI. So I don't see any need to change the defaults here. Sounds linke a candidate for an action (feedback) button in the text area like for other auto functions. Then user can decide to turn of or configure function. |
