Des, thanks for taking the time to post this issue. When I create a table from text without a border, the spacing seems fine to me. Could you please list step by step instructions on how to reproduce this issue, or include all the files we need to reproduce this issue. Thank you for using and supporting OOo. Create several lines of text. Go to Tools, Text <-> Table. Deselect Header, but leave Border selected, and hit OK. This creates the table. Right click in the table and select Table and go to the Borders tab. The "Spacing to contents" section has all settings at 0.04". Undo the changes, or create another set of text. Go through the same process, except deselect Border this time. Again right click and go to the Borders tab. You will notice that the "Spacing to contents" section now has all settings at 0.00". When a cell or cells has a lot of text, it will display right up against the text in the next cell, which is obviously not particularly easy on the eye. I believe this is a bug, rather than a feature and it needs to be resolved as one of the little annoyances which will inhibit mainstream acceptance of OOo. Thanks for the explaination, Des. In summary, you would like the "Spacing to contents" setting for borderless tables to default to a number greater than zero. I cannot classify this as a defect, but I will pass it on as an enhancement request. Thank you for using and supporting OOo. Reassigned to BH OpenOffice.org Issue Tracker - Feedback Request. The Issue you raised has the status 'New' pending further action, but has not been updated within the last 4 years. Please consider re-testing with one of the latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed. Either use the recent stable version: http://download.openoffice.org/index.html or consider trying the new OOo 3 BETA (still in testing): http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta/ Please report back the outcome so this Issue may be Closed or Progressed as necessary - otherwise it may be Resolved as Invalid in the future. You may also wish to search for (and note) any duplicates of this Issue that may have advanced further by checking the Issue Tracker: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/query.cgi Many thanks, Andrew Cleaning-up and Closing old Issues as part of: ~ The Grand Bug Squash, pre v3 ~ http://marketing.openoffice.org/3.0/announcementbeta.html To grep the issues easier via "requirements" I put the issues currently lying on my owner to the owner "requirements". I think we should delete the attachment. We should additionally discuss on PMC if we follow upon these methods to discourage this kind of abuse on our system.
