Description Unknown 2003-11-06 01:20:23 UTC
I discovered this problem after attempting to copy and paste the contents of
a Microsoft Word XP document table into an identical Open Office word
processor 1.1.0 table. The cells cut from the XP table are incorrectly
repeated in each cell of the Open Office document. I don't think this would
be an issue if pasting a XP table to an Open Office table did not work, but I
believe this is an issue because it displays the incorrect information which
can confuse the user. I was able to reproduce this problem several times and
we have attached an example of this issue.

Reproduction procedure:
1) Open Microsoft Word XP under Window XP professional
2) Select the Insert -> table utility from the Table menu
3) Set the Number of columns to 5 and the Number of rows to 2
4) Insert text in each cell of the table
5) Highlight all of the contents of the table and copy them
6) Open a Open Office word document
7) Select the table utility from the Insert menu
8) Set the Number of columns to 5 and the Number of rows to 2 and create the
table
9) Highlight all the cells of the table and paste the contents of the
Microsoft XP table into it.
10) Open office fails to properly paste the contents and repeats the contents
of every cell in the XP table into each cell of the Open Office table.

When pasting the content into a Writer document without creating a
table, it works fine (so much for the workaround...)

MRU->DVO: It's not necessary to open a doc in Word. When copying such
table content and than pasting into a selected table via RTF or HTML
interface, the whole table content is pasted into every cell.
I think this should also behave like the SO internal format, doesn't it?
