Description hans_werner67 2006-01-12 09:07:38 UTC
User must go thru recovery wizard or she is not able to work with OOo

Recommendation:
- make the wizard non modal
- do not renamed “Start recovery >” button in recovery wizard and automatically
load documents after recovering
- separate recovery process from error reporter

JA: AFAIK this behaviour is intended within the design of the autorecovery
feature. It was a goal to combine the two features autorecovery and error
reporting within one dialog. As long as the recovery of the documents hasn't
been finished it's not wanted to have the application responsive. One feature
could make this dialog more user friendly: being able to select the documents
which the user wants to recover within the autorecovery dialog.

btw. if you don't want to recover you can cancel the dialog.

A document I was working on crashed and when I turned the computer back on, I
got the screen for OpenOffice.org Document Recovery. The instructions told me
to press the "No Start Recovery Button", but there is no such button on the
screen. Now every time I try to pull up any office documents I get the
OpenOffice Recovery Document screen and cannot get around it. To get rid of
that screen I must go to Task Manager and "end task" on OpenOffice.

Please help!!!
