Description frank.loehmann 2006-02-06 16:47:52 UTC
“Direkthilfe” (What's This?) was also used on objects participants worked on,
but without success. Recommendation: Offer typical help topics or links to
relevant keywords of the help index not only for functions in the GUI, but also
for the properties of the content the user is working on.

Keyword: ux-ctest

"Direct help" can be seen after pressing Shift+F1, then pointing with the mouse
to icons or commands or dialog box controls. These are triggered by Help IDs.
Don't know which type of objects this issue refers to:
a) objects like text selections, inserted graphics, tables inside text, table
borders, custom shapes?
b) objects like special windows, as Navigator, Gallery, Fontwork?
For both types of objects it would be most disturbing to get automatic extended
help bubbles all the time. So users would tend to disable extended help, which
we really do not want them to do.
For objects of type a) the user can right-click to see what commands are most
often used on this object.
For objects of type b) the user can read the documentation any time.
